The company Tremdouro Sociedade Unipessoal Lda. Passeios Turísticos da Régua was set up in 2002 with the goal of promoting excursions in the Douro region, and it acquired a Tourist Train for that purpose.

A year later (2003), the same director was compelled, by circumstances and, basically, by the need to offer tourists a wider range of amenities, to create Douro Verde Turismo, Transportes de Passageiros, which straightaway bought a sightseeing coach (open-top).

At that time we also had other vehicles, including tourist buses, to provide every kind of service. It was then, too, that Douro Verde Turismo started to really concentrate on cruises up the Douro, and the company is, at this moment, finalising the purchase of a vessel to offer cruises, starting from the town of Peso da Régua.
